Easter salt dough bunny decorations

I love, love, love Easter. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling of spring happiness and as colour starts appearing in the garden I also want to bring nature into the home. Every year we make an Easter tree so when I put together an Easter craft project for Harvey's Furniture I decided to focus on some decorations for our tree.

With some lovely fellow bloggers the Easter crafts are all on the Harvey's website and they are very inspiring from a pretty Spring mobile to a woven Easter basket.

I made salt dough bunnies that Little Bird and I decorated. You can see the full 'how to' in the above article but basically I made a batch of salt dough and used bunny cookers cutters to make the shape and a straw to make a hole in the ear for ribbon or twine to go through to hang them up.

Painted in pink and yellow, decorated with embellishments from our crafting box.

Now let me tell you a little secret. Ok. Well erm can you see one of the decorations as a bit of a wound. Yes, well. Do not leave them on the floor and leave the room with a dog in the room. Do not underestimate the old dog sleeping on the sofa because they still have good noses that sniff potential food out. I walked back into the room and had to shout 'drop!!' Luckily she did and the bunny got to be hung up on our Spring branches in a jug on the mantle.

So kids and dogs, as I found out can make a mess, a huge mess in my house but Harveys have some handy hints by mums for cleaning furniture. I use cold water on any stains on my fabric sofa so it doesn't set into the material. There are also super tips for cleaning sofa upholstery, leather and removing scratches from glass.

Over Easter, Harvey's are hosting a gorgeous competition to win an amazingly cute Tipi playden from When I Was a Kid. All you need to do is share your Spring craft pictures on either the Harvey's Facebook page, tag @harveysHQ on Instagram or Twitter using #HarveysHandmade. Closing date is the 13th April.

Lots of luck and have a wonderful Easter. Happy crafting!
